How to Remove a Headlamp on a Ford F-150
- 1). Allow the Ford F-150 to cool down for about 20 minutes if it has been driven recently. This allows components under the hood to cool completely and reduce the risk of causing a burn.
- 2). Open the hood of the Ford F-150 and locate the headlamp that you'd like to remove. You will notice a metal band surrounding the headlamp. The metal band secures the headlamp in place. Use a screwdriver to loosen and remove the four screws holding the metal band in place. Remove the metal band by gently pulling it off the headlamp; it will easily come off once screws are removed.
- 3). Remove the headlamp by pulling it out of place gently. Disconnect the electrical cord on the back of the headlamp by unplugging it. The headlamp has now been removed and your vehicle is ready for headlamp replacement or other maintenance.
